The HP 500B pc was originally supplied from the HP factory with the following specifications and software. The 500B CPU is the Intel Pentium M 770 / 2.13 GHz running at a clock speed of 2.13 GHz. The pc was supplied with a standard 512 MB of DDR2 SDRAM memory. Graphics was originally an Intel GMA 900 The video card runs at WXGA. The motherboard was designed around the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset running at 533 MHz. Storage was on a standard 60 GB drive with networking running on the 10/100 Ethernet device. The original system was also supplied with Adobe Acrobat Reader, HP Backup and Recovery Manager, InterVideo WinDVD, Norton Internet Security (60 days subscription), Sonic DigitalMedia Plus, Synaptics Touchpad Driver (Some additional software is not included).

The 500B is a 64 bit pc and can natively run any 64 bit operating system.
The 64 bit CPU can also run a 32 bit x86 operating system using built in hardware emulation.

Some original operating systems are old, like really old! Windows® XP was originally released on October 25 2001, making it very close to 25 years old. So in some cases an OEM beta recovery disk from HP® could originally of been published over 25 years ago. This date would obviously depend on the manufacturing date of the 500B pc, but in most cases it will be years out of date and will contain old drivers and a very old edition of the operating system. To overcome this we also supply, with every order, an agile driver recovery disk, which will carry out a live scan and replace and update any old drivers.
Although we do not support Windows® 95 or 98, here is a list of when each OS was released. Windows® 95 August 24, 1995, Windows® 98 June 25, 1998, Windows® XP October 25, 2001, Windows® Vista January 30, 2007, Windows® 7 October 22, 2009, Windows® 8 October 26, 2012, Windows® 8.1 October 17, 2013, Windows® 10 July 29, 2015 and Windows 11 was announced by Microsoft on June 24, 2021.
Remember that a valid product key (found on the 500B COA ) is required to use the system recovery service. If you have the Windows® 11 10 8.1 or Windows® 8 operating system and you do not see a COA then your product key will be embedded in the 500B BIOS. If HP® originally supplied your pc with Windows® 11 pre-installed or even if you have previously upgraded it from or Windows® 10, then this recovery software is exactly what you are looking for.
