The Acer Aspire ONE D257 netbook was originally supplied from the Acer factory with the following specifications and software. The Aspire ONE D257 CPU is the Intel Atom N570 / 1.66 GHz running at a clock speed of 1.66 GHz. The netbook was supplied with a standard 1 GB of DDR3 SDRAM memory. Graphics was originally an Intel GMA 3150 The video card runs at WSVGA. The motherboard was designed around the Intel NM10 Express chipset running at the standard speed. Storage was on a standard 320 GB drive with networking running on the 10/100 Ethernet device. The original system was also supplied with the Windows® operating system, drivers and associated software.

Windows® 95 August 24, 1995, Windows® 98 June 25, 1998, Windows® XP October 25, 2001, Windows® Vista January 30, 2007, Windows® 7 October 22, 2009, Windows® 8 October 26, 2012, Windows® 8.1 October 17, 2013, Windows® 10 July 29, 2015 and Windows 11 was announced by Microsoft on June 24, 2021.
Remember that a valid product key (found on the Aspire ONE D257 COA ) is required to use the system recovery service. If you have the Windows® 10 8.1 or Windows® 8 operating system and you do not see a COA then your product key will be embedded in the Aspire ONE D257 BIOS. Acer® Aspire ONE D257 Netbook (US) Windows® 10 Recovery Software
The Acer Aspire ONE D257 Windows® 10 recovery software is available on a DVD disk set, USB or download ISO image and is designed for use specifically with the Acer Aspire ONE D257.
If Acer® originally supplied your netbook with Windows® 10, or if you upgraded it from or Windows® 8.1 or 8, then this software will use your built in product key to automatically reinstall or repair your system. If you have upgraded from Windows® 7 or your product key is not built in you can select the edition for repair or reinstall from a drop down menu during the repair or reinstall process.
