So you have a pirated copy of Windows® and you want to make it legal for free?

Well Microsoft® have surprised everybody and have announced that they will convert all pirated copies of the following Windows® operating systems to a fully legal version of Windows® 10 for free!

These Pirated Windows® versions will get the free upgrade to Windows® 10 Home edition:
Windows® 7 Starter
Windows® 7 Home Basic
Windows® 7 Home Premium
Windows® 8, 8.1 (Without Pro)
Windows® 8, 8.1 Country Specific
Windows® 8, 8.1 Single Language

These Pirated Windows® versions will get the upgrade to Windows® 10 Pro edition:
Windows® 7 Professional
Windows® 7 Ultimate
Windows® 8, 8.1 Pro
Windows® 8.1 Pro For Students

So what on earth is Microsoft® doing?

Well it is a very clever move on their part, as there are literally hundreds of millions of pirated copies of Windows® floating around, especially in China.

"We are upgrading all qualified PCs, genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10," Windows operating systems chief Terry Myerson told Reuters.

So contrary to Microsoft's normal stance on pirates and pirated software, they have decided to legalise everything. Think about that for a second, with this single move just about everybody in the world is going to upgrade their operating system, legal or not, and go for a totally new legal Windows® 10... Then what? How are they going to get a return on their investment? How are they going to make any money?

Well this is where we have to speculate a bit, but consider this, maybe sometime after the first year, Microsoft® will likely be switching to a subscription based model! What a spectacularly good move that is..... get everybody hooked on your "free" product and then go to a monthly subscription. Sounds familiar right? Possibly one of the oldest tricks in the book.

How to get Windows® 10 for free

We love our giant friend Microsoft® as does Steve Ballmer??!! So lets not speculate too much, and maybe thank them for a brave move. We shall see how it all ends, watch this space.

Oh and who is this Steve Ballmer we talk of??.... Who could ever forget the famous Steve Ballmer "I Love This Company" introduction... and if you have no idea what we are talking about.. this will make your day. Does your CEO behave like this?
